Grief Recovery

As more and more people are affected by addiction, more and more families are left with the grief of an overdose death.

This unique experience is often hidden and veiled with guilt, shame, stigma, and discomfort. I know first hand the challenges of coping and grieving after drugs have left death and brokenness in its path.

Understanding Hearts offers a safe place for those who have lost a loved one due to an overdose. This support group will provide company and understanding to your world of heartbreak, isolation, and confusion. We meet every other Sunday from 4:30 - 6:00 at Bayside Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach, VA. We will learn how to move forward as we discuss guilt, shame, blame, stigma, isolation, fear, and anxiety; which are all natural thoughts and feelings throughout your grief journey.

Because we all share the devastating loss of a loved one due to drugs, we truly are a group of Understanding Hearts.

Understanding Hearts' meeting schedule for 2020:

Starting January 12th, we will meet every other Sunday from 4:30pm-6:00pm
